A Management System for CEOs: Goals as an Enabler

While every other department has some kind of a system – such as Salesforce.com for sales, Workday for HR, or Eloqua or Marketo for marketing – CEOs are usually doing swivel screen management between e-mail, calendars, ERP tools, PowerPoint presentations, and spreadsheets. This results in trying to piece together some updated view of the organization from anecdotes, ra ndom stats that don’t relate to business outcomes, and backwards-looking informatio n (“Here’s what we’ve done lately…”).
